JK Rowling Gets Richer Every Second by $5

Literary genius deserves appropriate compensation. J. K. Rowling is one writer with more writing talent in her little finger than most of us will ever have. Although I am happy for her in her success, I believe that there are other authors with book series just as good, if not better.

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time

Tad Williams's Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn

Crown of Stars (can't remember author at the moment)

Mercedes Lackey's Dragon Jousters and Valdemar

Anne McCaffrey's Acorna; Dragon Riders of Pern; Ship; etc.

The ones I've listed are strictly fantsy (only with a dash of science fiction here or there) and appropriate for children. I couldn't list al the ones I've enjoyed, because I don't have my book list handy. Although these are kid-friendly, I've found more adults entranced with them than you might think. Oh, I forgot:

Piers Anthony's Xanth

Terry Pratchett's Discworld
