Every day as we open papers, we find companies announcing job cuts. In industry parlance, these are called giving pink slips to their employees. When a person is fired, his or her termination notice is called pink slip. Many IT companies as well as engineering concerns have declared job cuts. Automobile sector has also not been spared. This sector has reported job cuts as there has been less demand on vehicles. In US, sale of cars is considered an indicator for economy growth. But there is a joke that goes among IT professional in India. If we make a search on Infosys firing, then most likely google will report back and ask a question – do you mean Infosys hiring? This is so Infosys has taken a route to hire employees during this period in large numbers and enrol them at a lower cost. This has increased their operational efficiency as talented employees with strong backgrounds have given magical output which has increased productivity giving the company a competitive advantage.
