posted January 13, 2009 - 8:54amI think he is most widely known for his hilariously funny role in the hit sitcom series Third Rock From the Sun. Lithgow played the bumbling alien in human skin, Dick Solomon, who, along with his crew pose as a strange and dysfunctional family
to study civilization on Earth. Although that may have been his most popular role, John Lithgow is an award winning stage, film and television actor. Having won several Emmy and Tony awards and being nominated for 2 Academy Awards, Lithgow has now written a number of children's books and has recorded children's music.
Having amazing success in a variety of comedic and dramatic roles the Harvard graduate and versatile and wonderfully entertaining actor has focused his talents on writing for kids and entertaining and educating them through song and activities!
John Lithgow's collection of children's books include such titles as; I Got Two Dogs, Marsupial Sue Presents "The Runaway Pancake," I'm a Manatee, Mahalia Mouse Goes to College, Carnival of the Animals, Sing, Strum, and Beat the Drum!, and many more! Some books come with audio CDs as well, such as Mahalia Mouse Goes to College which features a recording of Lithgow's recital of the story as part of his Harvard commencement speech in 2005!
