john marshall,first chief justice of the supreme court

John Marshall was the first chief justice.
Marshall was born in Wednesday, September 24, 1755 on the Virginia frontier,and died in Monday, July 6, 1835 .

Marshall served a record for more than 34 years,participated in more than 1000 decisions and authored over 500 opinions.

Others will surpass his single accomplishments, but no one will replace him as the Babe Ruth of the Supreme Court.
