In an emotional and gracious speech John McCain fighting back tears at times, congratulated his opponent Barack Obama and called this an important and historical election. McCain said people have spoken clearly and expressed his respect and admiration for hi opponent.

The two candidates talked on the phone about 10 o'clock.
