I have the utmost respect for my elders. There is a lot we can learn from them--a glimpse into history that the textbooks and Wiki websites don't or won't tell. Being a student of history myself, I value those who have "been there done that".

Similarly, I love my grandparents dearly. Some of my best childhood memories involve visiting them or visits from them. For as much as I love them, I wouldn't trust them to have control of nuclear weapons or make life-and-death decisions at 3am, especially given the medications they take. (John McCain takes Ambien every night to sleep. Bet you didn't know that. Bet you also didn't know that a person taking Ambien requires 8 hours straight sleep before resuming normal activities so the medication has a chance to make it out of the bloodstream.)

Just like I would take the car keys from a elder relative that was too old to be safe on the road, perhaps it's time to take John McCain's keys to Washington. I think giving him an Age Card is a fair trade.
