Johnny Cash Acting Debut in 1971 Movie The Gunfight

Just recently I came across the video The Gunfight, stariing Johnny Cash, and Kirk Douglas. It was Johnny Cash's acting debut. The movie is about an gunfighter played by Johnny cash who ends up in this small town where he finds an aging gunfighter played by Kirk Douglas. Well the two end up having a lot in common and becoming compadres. With both of them needing cash, (no punn intended), it leads both of them to a gunfight against each other where they decide to sell tickets to the towns people, and a winner take all outcome. No I'm not going to tell you the end!

This movie was produced by the Jicarilla Apaches who reside in the state of New Mexico. It was made in 1971. Johnny cash is looking pretty good in this movie. Of course Kirk Douglas was a bit older.

Interesting western movie for either Johnny Cash fans, or Kirk Douglas Fans. What can be confussing sometimes is it's called A Gunfight, although I have the video that says it's The Gunfight. Either way it's a pretty good bet with Johnny Cash in it. I fell in love with his acting when he played a fake preacher on the Little House on the Prairie series. His wife June Carter Cash also played his wife in that episode.

So, Johnny Cash and western fans, go find yourself a copy of this movie and enjoy!!
