Jose Offerman charged with assault

It was reported from Bridgeport Connecticut that Jose Offerman while playing for Long Island Ducks was thrown out of the game for attacking a pitcher and a catcher from the opposite team.
This former major league star was charged today with two counts of second-degree assault. He was freed on a $100,000 bond and is due in a Bridgeport Superior Court on 23rd of August.
The pitcher Matt Beech sustained a broken finger while the catcher John Nathans had a concussion.Both players were treated and discharged from hospital.
