JPMorgan Chase Agrees to Take Over Ailing Washington Mutual At $1.9 billion

JPMorgan Chase has announced that it will take over the ailing Washington Mutual at a cost of $1.9bn, according to this news report.

After hours of deliberation with President George Bush in Washington over the Economic Crisis, "they failed to reach an agreement on a massive $700bn (£380bn) government proposal to bail out the troubled US finance sector."
