Judge Issues Restraining Order on Auto-Warranty Calls!!!

A Chicago judge issued a restraining order today against Transcontinental Warranty Inc. on Thursday and one against Voice Touch Inc. on Friday.

Both companies are connected to a telemarketing scam that calls consumers and businesses on land and cell phones regardless of their status on the Do Not Call Registry.

What I find annoying about it...

I get why some companies use telemarketers from an economic standpoint and could deal with the calls because I could talk with an actual human being and tell them to put me on a do not call anymore list. With the automated calls, you either have to stay on the line and be annoyed while the blast you with the message in hopes of talking to someone live at the end or you can hang up and they're onto the next call at the click of a computer circuit. This is the equivalent of the law that says that companies may not send e-mail to you without giving you the option to unsubscribe within the body of the e-mail, yet the spammers don't bother to include it (usually) or they use your sending them an e-mail to unsubscribe as permission to add you to yet another spam marketing list. I have a solution for dealing with spammers, but it is not fit to print. CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!

Harrassing Practices

These people have called me at home and at work. They've even dialed into my PREPAID cell. I do not answer unknown numbers but I have tried to call back on a landline and the numbers on caller ID are invalid. I just smiled when I saw this because these people have no regard for any law of any sort.

It's about time

As a stay-at-home parent, I am fed up with having to rush to the phone only to be greeted with an automated recording trying to sell me something I don't need and, even if I did need it, I wouldn't buy it from someone who feels obligated to annoy people with a computer that dials every possible number combination to reach everyone within an area code. I'm glad there is a restraining order against this company. I hope that it is a sign of things to come with the autodialer spam telemarketers. CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!
