July, When Summer Was In Full Career

July when Summer was in full career—
hot and dry was it, the breeze caress
her face in gentle punctuation, yes?
Ah, but if it were, that recall near
Escapes from me, for this the saddest year
To bear the month that I would guess
A time to me more sad than all the rest,
A season worth the recollected tear.

Imagist poetry

Thank you, Jennifer, for your gracious review. To tell you the truth, I was not familiar with the Imagist movement before. But on doing a little research, I see that several of the poets that are considered Imagists are among my favorite. So, fancy that! Now, I certainly will follow up.

Very nice

Very nice flow emcorpus!! The style is so often to hard to follow without stumbling, but no stumbling here. I like it a lot!!

Ooh, I likes

I really love the way you play with the language in this poem. I'm quite fond of imagist poetry, and I think you captured the essence of that form here. :)
