Jupiter Moons

A great shot taken on July 11th in northwestern France. You can clearly see the Galilean moons of Jupiter stretched across the brilliant planet in the lower right of the picture.

Jupiter is the largest planet within our solar system with a diameter of 88,736 miles. It boasts at least 63 moons besides the four largest orbs visible in this image. Its minimum distance from the Earth is 460 million miles.
