Ever since Britney Spears' recent slide, Kevin Federline has been portrayed in the media as being a very supportive estranged husband. While reports indicated that Federline may have threatened to take the couple's children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, if Britney Spears didn't check herself into rehab and stay there, that power play may have simply been an attempt to held Britney Spears to deal with her recent spate of problems, which reportedly range from alcohol abuse to postpartum depression. How, in a move of support for Britney Spears, Kevin Federline has shaved his head, much like Spears did before heading to the Promises rehab facility in Malibu, California.
In all fairness, it's not like Kevin Federline was sporting long, flowing locks to begin with, but Federline took his minimal haircut right down to the scalp, according to reports. Why is Kevin Federline doing all of this, even though Britney Spears callously filed for divorce and informed him via text message? According to The Sun, which featured an interview with a close friend of the rapper, "He said he still loves her."
According to reports, Kevin Federline, along with members of Britney's family, grew increasingly concerned by Britney's wild behavior and asked her to check into rehab, which she did twice. Both her stay in a rehab facility in Antigua and her first time at the Promises rehab facility lasted less than 24 hours. After Spears left the Malibu rehab facility, he threatened to take the couple's two children away from her via an emergency custody hearing with the Los Angeles Superior Court. Britney Spears then checked herself back into the rehab facility, where she has stayed for almost two weeks now.
However, the rumors coming out of the Promises rehab facility have been less than encouraging. The News of the World has quoted a friend of Britney Spears' who said that the singer was "crying, and shouting, 'I am the Antichrist!'" Following the antichrist remarks, the source told the British tabloid, "Later that night she tried to kill herself. She attached a sheet to a light and tied it around her neck. Paramedics were called, but luckily she was unhurt."
The source quoted by the News of the World goes on to say that, "The clinic people just didn't know what to do [when she ran around claiming she's the Antichrist]. Then she started screaming, ‘I'm a fake! I'm a fake!' It must have been really frightening. When she tried to hang herself it was more a cry for help."
The story about Britney's supposed meltdown has yet to be confirmed by any official sources. In response to earlier rumors that Britney Spears was on suicide watch the rehab facility, her publicist and manager, Larry Rudolph issued a statement, saying, "The story is absolutely untrue. She is in rehab, and it is very disappointing that various media outlets are running these false stories about her, as Britney tries to get better."
