Kawasaki disease or Kawasaki syndrome is an illness that involves the skin, mouth, and lymph nodes, and most often affects kids under age 5. The cause is unknown, but if the symptoms are recognized early, kids with Kawasaki disease can fully recover within a few days.

Reports state that Jett Travolta, John Travoltas son died of the rare disease. Jett Travolta was hospitalized when he was 15 months old as a child and that was when he was first diagnosed with the illness. It could have been complications from this illness that lead to his tragic death.
