posted December 30, 2007 - 12:38amIf you haven't heard of the beautiful female golfer by now, you'll soon begin to hear her name in the news in the near future. Not only is Anna Rawson a professional golfer, but she is also a model. The combination is putting her name on everyone's watch list.
She brings two dimensions to the game of golf. Her beauty and skill emphasize that golf is not just a game for the guys and her continued success prove that rookies and new comers have a lot of diversity and flair to contribute to professional golfing.
According to Annarawson.com, "Anna expects to improve the quality of her game while raising the profile of women's golf." She seems to be succeeding. Some predict that she will experience the same sky-rocket to fame that Tiger Woods experienced, doing for women in golf what Tiger Woods did for African American men in professional golf.
Anna Rawson is a member of the LPGA, but has yet to play a PGA tournament. Once she does, she should begin to earn her place among the tour champions.
The Australian born Rawson began playing golf at the age of 13. As a finalist in a magazine cover competition, she began to gain recognition as a model and was soon seen in print and television.
Undeterred by beauty and fame, Anna Rawson continued to focus on academics. Finishing among the top of her class, Anna was recruited by the University of Southern California on a golf scholarship. Upon graduation Anna decided golf would become her focus.
She worked with a couple of golf coaches prior to launching her career. Her first pro event was the Orient Masters in China. Finishing fifth easily paved the way for Anna Rawson's place on the Futures Tour. She ranked 22nd for the year on the Futures tour and finished twice in the top ten.
In 2005, Anna played on the Ladies European Tour. Her results continued to be impressive enough to keep her fully booked for 2007. The forecast for 2008 is a promising future for Anna Rawson. Many are anxious to see her play against LPGA champions and receiver her day in the LPGA sun.
