Doctors declare Everett a medical miracle and predict he will walk again and lead a normal life.

It seems that everything worked right for Kevin.

He was handled well at the scene of the injury to prevent secondary injury to the spine when it was unstable due to the broken vertebrae.

Within fifteen minutes of the injury his body temperature was lowered to 92 degrees to prevent swelling and further injury.

Immediate surgery went well and the bone fragments were removed and a supporting structure and bone fusion constructed to stabilize the spine and to protect the spinal chord. Surgeons used a combination of screws, bars, and a cage to reconstruct the bones.

He has received excellent care and medical management since the surgery.

When partially awakened today from a drug induced coma, he was able to move his arms and legs which gives every hope he will walk again and be able to live a reasonably normal life.

A true medical miracle.
