The Weight Loss Cure "They" Don't Want You to Know About - should you buy it?
posted March 6, 2007 - 4:04pmHave you seen the Weight Loss “Cure” Infomercial? Are you considering buying the book? His claims sound pretty good, don't they? His claims are enticing -- we want to believe him, but should we?
Kevin Trudeau claims in his book The Weight Loss Cure “They” Don’t Want You to Know About that it’s not the fault of fat people that they are fat. He contends that the food companies include additives in their food that make people fat, on purpose. He says this “protocol” is not a “diet.” He claims that he did not “invent” it, but that it was discovered by a British scientist and has been suppressed by the Food and Drug Administration and the American Medical Association. But what does this so-called cure involve? Can the hypothalamus really be “reconditioned” to correct appetite, hunger, food cravings, and fat storage? Can you really follow Trudeau’s protocol, eat whatever you want, not exercise and lose a pound a day just like he claims? You could buy his book to find the answer to these questions, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
Trudeau has a history of scamming the public with his infomercials and products. For example, I read his book Natural Cures “They” Don’t Want You to Know About, and though the book claims to reveal all kinds of healthful cures the truth is that every time you get close to something that sounds promising, Trudeau says in so many words: “I can’t tell you about it here. Go to my website, become a paying member, and I’ll tell you about it then.” He talks about research done, but doesn’t cite it. He quotes people and organizations, but his quotes don’t check out. We can safely assume that this new book will do the same thing.
One thing we can credit Trudeau for is his understanding of the American people. Americans in general love a conspiracy theory and it’s not difficult to get them to part with their hard-earned money for “secret” information. It’s a brilliant business move, if not quite ethical to prey on the weak-minded and gullible in this image obsessed nation. I’m sure he’ll make a bundle.
