Keys to Maintaining a Healthy Marriage While Overcoming Sexual Abuse
posted November 4, 2009 - 2:28pmThere is no relationship as likely to set off sexual abuse issues for survivors as the marriage relationship. The very nature of sexual abuse will cause any number of triggers as survivors try to maintain a healthy marriage relationship. The spouse of the survivor is most likely to become the person who causes the most severe reactions and, unfortunately, that is unavoidable. This article tells more about my personal experience and provides some keys to help others navigate this land mine of marriage. My husband and I have been married for 40 years now. It is much to his credit that we are still together. He stood strong and did his best to understand . . . the hard work of recovery is definitely worth it! Blessings to you as you read . . .
