Kidnapped 54 Years Ago? Michigan Man "Gets" FBI DNA Results (UPDATED)

In 1955, Steven Dammen disappeared on Halloween from a New York bakery. His mother had left the baby stroller with he and his sister outside a Long Island grocery store while she went in to make a purchase. When she came out her boy was gone. He had been kidnapped.

As John Barnes grew up he more and more became aware he didn't look like any of his family members. They were short with dark hair. He was tall with blond hair. As he grew up he was always treated different than others in the family, almost like an outcast. He also had noticed that there were no baby pictures of him, as there were other members of the Barnes family.

He began digging around on the Internet looking at pictures of kidnapped children who would be around his current age of 54.

Many leads ended in dead-ends. And, then, he stumbled onto the baby pictures of Steven Dammen, and pictures of his young mother.

John Barnes noticed a striking resemblance to the young mother. Even the baby pictures looked like him.

Steven Dammen's father, Jerry, is still alive, as is the former Mrs. Dammen, Steven's mother, and Mr. Barnes, today, looks a lot like Mr. Dammen. The one thing I noticed immediately is the eyes...

He is currently awaiting FBI DNA testing results...
