Kindle price slashed!

Kindle price slashed!

The Kindle's price has been dropped by $50 in hopes to increase sales. I have to admit as an avid reader who is tired of having to purchase and squeeze in more bookshelves this is a happy day. I may go down and look into one in the near future. We'll see, but the small savings on books themselves (at least from Amazon) and the fact that you can put your own documents on to via USB is appealing. You can also backup  your e-books on your computer so you never lose them.

Me too!  I buy quite a few

Me too!  I buy quite a few books, but rarely hard covers because they're pretty expensive.  I know someone who has a kindle and they're pretty nice, easy to read, and very portable.  If they drop the price drastically, I may have to get one, or maybe second hand.

I would love to see the price

I would love to see the price of books drop! It'd be like getting a raise since I buy so many! :) Hopefully it'll encourage the population to read more too. According to one of the articles I read that's Kindle's big downfall is that American's don't read for pleasure much anymore. Maybe reducing the cost would help! :)

The prices of those ebooks

The prices of those ebooks are appealing and that would be one of the reasons I would look into the kindle or a similar device--there's a new one coming out from Barnes & Noble, which might be a cool e-reader too.

Another thing you might be interested in that I read today is that Amazon.com and Wal-Mart.com both lowered the prices of some of their new Hardcover books to $9.  That's really cheap!  We'll see if it's just the lower end books or not, but books could be a whole lot cheaper very soon.
