Festivals come in all shapes and sizes   Labor Day offers a grand venue for fairs and festivals across the United States.

If you live in the New York area, don’t miss out on the New York State Festival of Balloons that brings in thousands of visitors every year.  This grand event takes place from September 3rd to September 7th and offers plenty of fun for the whole family.  The event takes place in Dansville, New York at the Dansville Municipal Airport.  The hot air balloon ascensions take place at six in the morning and at six at night every day during the spectacular event.  The New York State Festival includes: a delicious food court with entrees of every kind, an arts and crafts center, an authentic car show, and hot air balloon rides.  Every night, concerts fill the atmosphere with live music and entertainment that will have you coming back for more.  The concert tickets are five dollars each, and children who are under the age of twelve are admitted for free.  If you are really daring and have the available budget, you can participate in a hot air balloon ride that costs two hundred dollars per person.

Dallas, Texas hosts a popular and unique event during the Labor Day weekend.  The Anime Fest is hosted in Dallas every year and includes a venue full of options:  gaming, art shows, imitation actors, film openings, an auction, and plenty of music.  If you are interested in Japanese pop culture, then be sure to check out this fantastic event.  Tickets are thirty dollars per person per day.  The festival is held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Dallas.

Of course one of the most highly anticipated Labor Day Festivals is the three-day Detroit Jazz Fest that inspires musicians all over the nation.  Motor City enjoys hosting this event that so incredibly says a grand farewell to summer.  In addition, Detroit hosts a Labor Day Parade filled with aspiring talent from local high schools and activity clubs.  If you are interested in attending these events, it won’t hurt your pocket book.  Both the Detroit Jazz Fest and the Detroit Labor Day parade have no admission fees.

Labor Day just wouldn’t be the same without the festivities surrounding the Chicago area.  Chicago provides a bike ride on Friday evening that commences at five and takes riders through downtown Chicago and the surrounding streets.  One of the highlighted city events is The Jazz Festival in Chicago that lasts four days (Thursday through Sunday) and is located at Grant Park.  The admission to the festival is free and includes performances by Sonny Rollins.  In addition, Chicago hosts the JayCees Naperville Last Fling.  This festival includes: amusement rides, musical performances, and vendors from all over the state of Illinois.  Admission for the Friday event is ten dollars, and admission for the Saturday and Sunday events is twelve dollars each night.

Don’t miss out on these spectacular Labor Day Festivals!
