Law & Order
posted December 4, 2006 - 4:05amI've been a fan of the Law & Order series, simply due to the fact that detective series have been something I've liked to watch. CSI: Miami is pretty interesting as well, and Without A Clue is another I've watched regularly.
One thing I noticed is that Law & Order based every episode this season on some recent case on the news. One was based on the Mel Gibson arrest, except the episode made Chevy Chase play an anti-Semetic out of work actor who drove his son to murder a fellow Jewish actress. Another had something to do with Girls Gone Wild. It seems like the writers added a murder to every story.
Is it me or did they run out of ideas? The show seems to have lost a step by making it so obvious that the story was based off of a news bit.
Maybe it's a disappointment for me since the Criminal Intent show is written much better and the regular one changed its direction this much.
Without A Clue has interesting storylines, but doesn't have really shocking twists included in the story. It's either the missing person is found or they are dead. Once in a while, they are running from the law and they are arrested at the end. Regardless, I enjoy watching the show.
Police and detective based shows always attract viewers. People are drawn to these kind of shows. But how will these shows get better when the writers struggle to develop a story that has too much sameness every episode.
Thoughts please?
