There was an emergency meeting Sunday in New York held by Federal Reserve officials and leaders of major U.S. financial institutions to try to find a way to rescue Lehman Brothers. Unfortunately, Lehman Brothers were left without a life jacket. Now, Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc said Monday it intends to file for chapter 11 bankruptcy.
