Leizlmarie & Me on Why Nonsense Discussions Are the Most-Active Ones on MyLot.com

Uncle MythMan says ...

At the Blog below, she asked why nonsense-discussions are more-active than reasonable ones; I replied in my naturally-complicated style, and she wonderfully reinterpreted it: "sensible arguments don't need to be discussed at all and we just have to try discussing not-so-sensible ones since the latter are not yet fully built and so we have to discuss it to built a strong foundation of it and make it a sensible one."

That Starts the Inhumane Filtering of Humanity @jdubhub

When you place a filter of 'content-types' (i.e. images, ads, plug-ins, cookies) on the machine, it keeps out that type of machine-output; like not breathing underwater. But when you put machine-filters on the human-factor, you miss out on whatever goodness might also get filtered: like when someone tells you the Gospel of Flying Spagetti and titles it "The FREE Gospel of Spam's Defeat by the FSM," but it gets tossed out of the SE-lists because it used a 'bad' word (-or-three) in the title. ---Joining Xomba FREE Helps Writers A LOT, but Google signs the checks for our writing about Buddhist Chant, Dr. Hot4Words, Happy Bounties~

How about "content" Tares?

I have my settings set on Firefox and I have good software countermeasures, but it would be nice to have a filter for the content Tares so I don't have to read bad content, too. LOL Kind of like wanting a television commercial blocker so my eyes and brain are not subjected to a bombardment of advertisements for products and services I won't consider just out of principle. In Google Chrome's "Options > Under the Hood" ... @jdubhub

... There's a 'protect against phishing and malware'-option, and there's a couple ways to block 'cookies' (little files websites leave on your computer-to remind your browser where you've been and -to help advertisers make sure you're not 'lip-clicking' (clicking without really exploring) their ads). ---Joining Xomba FREE Helps Writers A LOT, but Google signs the checks for our writing about Buddhist Chant, Dr. Hot4Words, Happy Bounties~

There needs to be a Tare Filter on our browsers

If we could set them ourselves, maybe we could do away with most of the spam e-mails and banner ads that proliferate the Internet and make the surfing experience more enjoyable. CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!

'Read My Stuff, Expect Bible Refs" (Parable-of-'X'ares) @jdh-Idw

(... that's "Tares" with an 'X') The Parable of the Tares (i.e. Weeds) was that a) the enemy WILL come while you sleep--he has to, it's what he does--but b) you have to work with what ~he~ gives you too (waiting `til 'harvest' to separate it from what "He" gives you). I'm sure you can apply all that to today's fertile land, the Internet. ---Joining Xomba FREE Helps Writers A LOT, but Google signs the checks for our writing about Buddhist Chant, Dr. Hot4Words, Happy Bounties~

Nowadays, those deep questions are found in banner ads

Do you prefer Coke or Pepsi? Your answer will get you a $500 McDonald's gift card with the completion of a dozen offers, a note from your mother, a waiver against being spammed to death, and an acceptance of the invitation to answer even more pointless questions for the next year. Those types of "conversations" were big when I first joined Mylot, so they finally banned such types of questions. Though I'd guess they still show up, perhaps in a more subtle form.
