On Canada Day, July 1st 2009 a new photo contest website appeared online in Toronto and its hoped that this destination will become a valuable resource for photographers and bloggers all over the world. The place deals in one specific commodity , local pictures, and right now its just local pictures of Toronto, but someday it will be pictures that are local to people all over the world.

Lenzr.com photo challenges last for sixty days, and so there are six contest periods every year - all this will be detailed on All Canada Contests.

Lenzr.com is not your usual contest website that lives only to advertise one company, product or service. That's because this destination was built to showcase very specific user submitted content and here, voting is actually the best way to view all the pictures in an interactive digestion of the material.

The first ever Lenzr photo contest is sponsored by Lenzr itself. The challenge will reach its dramatic conclusion on August 31st and the firm will award a shiny new digital camera to the lucky winner as it chronicles the story of the winning picture on the Lenzr blog, and in other partner sites. The 12-megapixel Pentax Optio P70 is a nifty camera with a wide-angle 4x optical zoom lens (27.5-110mm equiv.).
