It's been two years since "Invasion Iowa" was released as a SpikeTV miniseries - and we want to see it again! We are starting a petition for it to be released on DVD.


For anyone that didn't get to see it when it was aired the week of March 29, 2005, "Invasion Iowa" was a "reality" mini-series starring William Shatner as himself. He and a Hollywood crew infiltrated Riverside, Iowa (the same Riverside, Iowa where Captain James T. Kirk is supposed to be born in the year 2233), claiming they were shooting an independent movie there. They gathered up unsuspecting townsfolk to assist as crew members and cast and proceeded to disrupt life in the small town.


The best part of the prank was all the mini-pranks that Shatner & Co. pulled to keep up appearances - like the phone call from a Sean Connery impersonator demanding his trailer be fully stocked with Fruit Roll-Ups, or the my-ridiculously-large-stunt-double-nephew-is-actually-my-son gag ("Dad, wanna have a catch?"). But even a group of professional improvisational actors couldn't keep up with the genuine oddities of the town of Riverside.
