We have it on good authority that Liam Gallagher (formerly Oasis) gave a Big Issue seller fifty quid about twenty minutes before this was published. It is amazing what you can learn on Twitter – the authority was Alistair Campbell (not the hissy fit ex lead singer of UB40) but the spin doctor supreme of Tony Blair - who I can’t help liking despite his blinkers to do with the aforementioned – who’ll he’ll not admit is no better than a war criminal… Well actually it was Alistair’s son who saw it according to his Tweet which was:

• My son just saw Liam Gallagher giving fifty quid to a Big Issue seller.

I buy Big Issue, it’s a good read and its ethos is sound. This is the magazine (in case you don’t know) which supports its sellers who were once homeless. Celebrities with brains often appear in the magazine and give it scoops – I reckon if more people realised this its sales would increase.

People in Sutton Coldfield are mostly annoyed by its Big Issue sellers – they are tight around here but as my mother points out, they didn’t get rich by being generous or giving to charity.
