Life Is Beautiful (And Delicious)

you know what cereal is really really delicious?

life.

it looks deceptively plain, camoflaging itself as a healthy-looking wheat snack of some kind, another version of chex. that is a lie though. there is nothing plain or chex-like about this cereal besides its appearance. one bite is enough to assure you. the flavor is sugary, though leaning more towards the honey or maple syrup spectrum than pure sugar. sure there is a certain shredded wheat quality to the cereal bits but they are so light they dissolve on the tongue, almost like snow flakes or cotton candy.

life is the only cereal i can stand to eat when it mushes up. and mush it will. as soon as milk touches its "flakes," it begins to dissolve, to coalesce together into a sweet sticky wheaty mess, almost similar to oatmeal. this is surprisingly a good thing. the miniature "biscuits" (as the life website proclaims them to be) do not taste all that great when eaten by themselves. this is a cereal that cries out to be smothered in milk (or silk if you prefer, of the vanilla variety, natch), to blend together and dissolve.

oddly enough, while life may resemble shredded wheat, it is actually made from oats. it does not look at all like it is made out of oats. but that's what their website tells me, and who am i to contradict? it's mighty tasty, whatever the hell it's made out of.

and you just know this product is made by quaker oats. it screams out "i'm a healthy cereal to feed your kids" when in actuality we all know that every breakfast cereal on the market is really dessert. some are just more obvious than others. while this has no marshmallow stars or chocolate peanut butter balls, it still has enough sugar and salt to consider it a snack more than a meal. (albeit less than some other cereals on the market.)

i love life. the cereal that is. life itself sucks ass.

(i'm totally making a bazillion dollars off this xombyte. thanks quaker oats, i really needed the money!)
