The University of Arizona is probably best known for their basketball team, and former head coach Lute Olsen. Although, their football team the Wildcats aren't too shabby either.

Well, this is another subject about Tucson that I have first hand experience as well, just like the Air Force Base. I only attended one year, as being an older student at the time it just wasn't the place for me. Most of the students of course are very young. I would say a few of them like to party. i remmber going to class and seeing several students slumped in their chairs with dark sunglasses on, trying to get over the night before. As well, I just happened to have some of the basketball team members in my class at the time. My observation was that they were more interested in eating, talking and sleeping, then learning. They really were annoying.

The U of A as we call it hear, is located between down town, and mid-town. Although the campus is pretty, it's not in the best area of town. Although being where it is the students do have easy access to many restaurants and bars. I thank God I wasn't there a couple of years ago when they had a shooter running rampant on the campus. People were unfortunately killed.

They do however, have wonderful programs at the U of A to study. They of course have a wonderful Astronomy program as well. We are one of the choice places for astronomers. However, not only does the University revolve around it's sports so does the residents of Tucson as well. When there's games going, you would think everyone in Tucson was a sports' fanatic. Trust me, it gets a little old after awhile. Then of course there's the long standing rivalry between the U of A Wildcats and Arizona State Sun Devils up in Phoenix. I swear it's as bad as the Army and Navy rivalry, if not worse!
