A Life Worth Living

Jennie and Connor make it to Tampa International Airport in a flash - Connor had his lights and sirens blasting the whole way. They got tickets through Jet Blue in a matter of minutes. Jennie was a little pissy with the way Connor was treating her.

He didn't give her much time to pack so basically she left with a couple of pair of jeans, a sweatshirt, sneakers, black flats, black pumps, a dress and a whole shitload of bras and panties. He was also giving her the ole speak when spoken to bs. She was starting to lose her patience. Now he wanted to grill her on a very sore subject.

"Look, someone somewhere must've told you what happened."

"No. They just told me you were my assignment and to make regular checks on you guys. I don't ask a lot of questions." Usually because I don't care.

"Well, hell...Doug was just starting to make his move in the family. A coupla of guys had lost their way and couple others weren't producin'. Michael wasn't in much of a good mood in those days."

"Who’s Michael?"

"Jesus Christ! Michael is the boss. He ran the DeAngelo family in the City."

"Ok"

"Well, Michael wasn't happy. And here comes Doug and he's kickin' ass. He had a good stable of pros that were bringing in some good cash...."

"Pros?"

"Whores, you moron. Anyway, the whores are makin' good money. Doug also made the switch from H to meth and made a killin'. Protection was not makin' alot but was holdin' its own. Extortion is where Doug really started rackin' up - he had three city attorneys under his boot. Well, Michael notices that Doug is producin' more than the Capos and Doug ain't even made. So, Michael really starts pushin' Doug to the other Capos to make him. The other Capos don't want anything to do with it. They all want control over Doug so they can share in the money. Michael decided to give all the Capos a piece of the extortion money in exchange for moving Doug up. We thought, and so did everyone else, that this was because of Doug's good work."

"No?"

"No. Michael really was using Doug to get to me. He wanted me as his goomah, his mistress. At first I was scared of what Michael might do to Doug if I didn't - so I had sex with him a coupla times - no big deal a coupla blows and a coupla of tugs - nothing more. Doug to this day doesn't know about that. But, Michael wanted more..."

"Classy lady."

"F you! You short dick motherfr!"

"I'm sorry - go ahead. Please."

"Well, Michael wanted more and by this time I had enough of his "s". Sos, I tell him no - Its over and better nothin' happen to Doug or his wife is gonna find out. He tells me big deal - his wife knows all about his girls and doesn't give a crap and unless I do this Doug's a dead man. I tells Michael - I'll kill him if he so much as looks at Doug in the wrong way. That was a mistake. Now, Michael is heated. He grabs me and throws me against a wall and punches me three or four times in the back of the head. Then he starts rapin' me while punching me in my back between my shoulders. And it "f"ing hurt too - not so much the raping - I had prepared myself for that - I knew what kinda animal he was but the punches were knockin' the air outta me, I couldn't catch my breath - I thought I was gonna die and he kept punchin' me - I thought it would never end. Eventually, he "finished" and let me fall to the floor. He let me know that there was worse in store for me and Doug if I didn't start playin'. I musta passed out because I woke up and it was dark out everywhere. I eventually made it home. Doug saw me and completely freaked. He was goin' nuts 'til he saw my back and realized the crazy level of Michael. It was then and there that we decided to go to the FBI and the rest is history. So that is why I think he may be going back to New York."

"That's some story and some motivation."
