The Line between Romance & Reality
posted October 24, 2009 - 7:53pmFor 'whatever reason' (or 'a lack thereof'), I'm a "member" of Anastasia-Date.com---a network for wealthy nerds to find wives from the group of women who are 'historically best-educated' (eastern Europe & western Asia ... the distant heirs of the Rus).
Today, I got a letter ranslated by Klimko Tatяna) from Juliya---a 27-year-old business-owner from Poltava, Ukraine:

I am sociable and with a great sense of humor, charming and very romantic. I can also tell you that I am tender, kind, loving woman if you are only mine! I will give you twice of love if you love me. All I need – to find you among thousands and never let you go. "I will live even at the world’s end if it is necessary and if you are there. "Two people in a couple – are the single unity. They just complete each other, they feel good together. This is the most important thing for me – to have harmonious relationship. "I am young, but I love children very much and of course want to have them in future. But as I believe that good family is the first thing the child needs – I plan to wait for you and we’ll solve this problem together somehow : ) I am a woman first of all, and like most women I dream about cozy family hearth. "Well, now you have certain idea about who I am and what I want. She writes that as if 'love' can conquer all the material reasons that 'keep us apart.' Sure, 'love' can inspire such victory; but you can't climb the wall without a 'ladder!' (or hook-and-rope or the ability to fly or a radioactive-spider-bite etc.)
Being unable to spend money electrically (and not having access to enough money even if I could send it), I was not able to make sure that my reply got through to her:

'I feel very-much the same way you do about relationships. However, 'feelings' cannot change the facts: if I had the power to bring you here, I would be where you are now---looking for you to bring back to me in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (which--I have been told--has the best real-estate-value in the country).
'That is to say; feelings are all I can provide ... and feelings are nice, but feelings don't provide food or shelter or travel-expense.

That's why romance is hopeless in the face of reality; part of the reason that makes the ideal situation "ideal" is that it cannot be touched by reality. Thus, anyone talking about 'the truth that is apparent in actual things' (reality) who speaks of anything "negative" that confuses the positivity-bringers must prob`ly be attempting to tear down the Kingdom of Human (built on the back of negativity).
But still, I wait in joyful hope for the arrival of the impossible treasure!
