Linux is a Sellout Hit at Walmart
posted November 16, 2007 - 1:38pmWal-Mart began selling Everex's Ubuntu Linux-powered TC2502 gPC shortly after this past Halloween and are already out-of-stock of 10,000 units, which was unanticipated by both Everex and WalMart.
The units are selling so quickly not only because of their WalMart price of just under $200.00, but also because they are the perfect handheld PC for people who just want a cheap computer to check e-mail, chat, and maybe look at a few websites.
If you failed to act quickly enough, fear not. Everex has moved up production of the next batch of gPC's and they will be in WalMart stores soon. Just don't make the same mistake twice.
Take that Microsoft!
