List of Health Foods That Are Not Really Health Foods

Some healthy foods may be making Americans fat.

It's not the lettuce, mushrooms, broccoli or tomatoes. It's the food that's labeled "low-fat" or "low-carb." A whopping $30 billion dollars a year is being spent into tricking comsumers into thinking these types of foods are good for us.

Here is a list of health foods that are not really healthy.

Bran Muffin
440 calories
23 grams of fat
35 g sugars

Made up mostly of sugar, refined sugar, and hydrogenated oil, you might as well start your day with a candy bar. Has more fat and calories than two Kit Kat bars.

Chicken Caesar Salad
900 calories
60 grams of fat

Chicken caesar salad dressing has a of lot fat. Is usually loaded with Parmesan cheese and croutons. It's equal to eating 20 Chicken McNuggets.

Tuna Melt
950 calories
55 grams of fat

Tuna out of the can is healthy, but tuna with lots of mayonaise, melted cheese, and more salad dressing is not. Has as much calories a three six-inch roast beef sandwiches from Subway.

Chicken Wrap
700 calories
35 grams of fat

All a wrap is an oversized tortilla that packs up to 400 calories. Then comes the cheese, meat and dressing. Same amount of calories as 20 strips of bacon.

Turkey Burger
850 calories
50 grams of fat

A homemade turkey burger might be a healthy choice. In a restaruant, it is ground turkey with lots of fat, lots of mayonaise, melted cheese on a great big bun. Has as many calories than three 8 ounce sirloin steaks.

Fruit Smoothies
600 calories
120 grams of sugar

Unless the smoothie is 100 percent fruit, the smoothie is made with ice cream, sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and some chunks of banana. Has as much sugar as six Haagen Dazs Vanilla and Almond ice cream bars.
