When we think about war, we think about all the young men and women who willing lay their life on line to fight for us and our country. We are indebted to these young men and women in so many ways.

However, it would be hard for us to imagine sending a nine or ten year old child off to war, to fight and perhaps die. But during the Civil War, there was such young man who at age nine was determined to become a soldier and fight for a cause he believed in.

This is his story.
