Painted candy apple red with rubber tires, I sparkled! Fully assembled I was ready for my new home.

It's dark but I am finally moving! There is paper rustling and I am about to meet my boy! The lid begins to open and there it is.. The squeal of delight! He takes me from my box and I get my first look at my boy. Blonde hair, bright shiny blue eyes and from the look on his face I knew he would take care of me forever! We will roll around all day looking for hidden treasures, I will carry his GI joes and of course Mr. blanky!

MMM..the smell of sunshine! Paint gleaming, I know my boy is proud and wants to show me off. He grabs my handle and tugs me down the drive. Friends come to look at me and they tell him how lucky he is. Flowers, rocks, toys, I can carry it all! We are on our way to our first adventure. We spend our days together. He fills me up and wow! what an immagination. I have been a toy box, a train, a soap box racer, a surf board and a time machine! We played and played that summer! I didn't know he would forget me. I sit outside all day now in the hot sun and freezing rain.

One day I feel that familiar pull. My rust spots take me a while to get rolling again, but I'm on my way! UHOH! I am rolling really fast down the street all by myself! I see everything speeding by so fast and then ***BOOM**** I feel my metal crumple OUCH! Someone gets out of the car and picks me up but then tosses me on the side of the road. Now what? I'm scared and crumpled and I don't know where I am!

The weeds are growing around me now. I am almost covered. I guess this is where I will rust away. I miss my boy.

I feel hands gently lift me off the hard ground. I think I am riding in the back of a truck.

I am new and gleaming again! So shiny. This time it is a pretty little girl with bouncing curls! She is so excited! I get pulled around and now there are new adventures....

I think I finally understand... I get to come into so many lives and see pure joy. I may have to rust for a while but then someone will come along to make me new again!!!
