The Little Terrorists

They were downright terrorists!  Why in the world did they have to move in here of all places! I had it made, or so I thought. I lived a comfortable, carefree life before they came. Now I was frazzled and unwound almost every day. I never knew where I would end up with those two around. I had my routine. In a secure basket near the lazy boy, I didn’t have a worry. Each day I was surrounded by my friends who were just like me. As if it weren’t bad enough for me to be shaken and attacked by these two little kittens, my friends were also in danger of being shredded.
I certainly didn’t invite these two into my world. Yum Yum and Little Bit appeared one day, and they never left. In fact they could do whatever they pleased. They had the run of the house. Sometimes they jumped straight up in the air startling the wits out of me. Sometimes they arched their backs and made weird “hissing” sounds at one another. Once in awhile they rolled over like they were in a wrestling match with one another. I knew they were friends, though, when they got into my basket by the big lazy boy, curled up, and  fell fast asleep. Once in awhile they made  different sounds unlike the hissing sounds. These were the pleasant, friendly sounds  of contentment.
I was starting to get used to these little creatures, even though they were very different from me, when one day Little Bit actually dragged me out of my basket and batted me across the room. I tried to protest, but I couldn’t communicate with them. I didn’t have any words they could understand. We were just too different from one another. That day, when I landed suddenly on the other side of the room, Yum Yum stood over me with claws forcefully snagging me until I thought I would end up in a million shreds. No more of that, I said; but in a split second, I landed in another corner of the room completely disoriented and unraveled.  These two little terrorists wouldn’t let up. They were having too much fun at my expense.
All of a sudden. I heard a noise—someone was coming into the room.
“Scat cats!” Nancy yelled with a firm command.
“My rescuer!” I thought. “Thank heavens you got here in time!”
Nancy picked me up, brushed me off and rolled me back into a neat ball of yarn. She placed me back into my basket . I was safe and sound at least for the time being.

Super Cute Story!

I loved reading this article!  At first I was not sure who (or what) was telling the story.  I figured it out once the kittens started batting the ball of yarn around.  Too cute!  Thanks for sharing.
