Live Longer by Eating Mediterranean Diet
posted December 10, 2007 - 11:47pmI read an article today on Yahoo health about the Mediterranean diet and how it helps people live longer. This is great news--anything we can do to extend our life has to be front page news.
Basically, a Mediterranean diet consists of nuts and fish instead of red meat, olive oil instead of saturated fats, and plenty of vegetables.
In concert with plenty of exercise, the Mediterranean diet should expand your life. The diet helps keep blood pressure down and lowers fat levels.
It makes sense, because the Mediterranean diet doesn't consist of red meat or saturated fats. These are two of the culprits in why Americans are so fat.
Exercise, eat well, and don't smoke. This is the recipe for living long and keeping your health. I'm going to start eating better.
