Lives

A dark castle deep in the heart of the Decaying Forest lives an evil man simply known as the Dark Lord. In the darkness of his castle is a small village kept as his prisoners until they surrender the object of his desire. A child born on the night of a true moon, the child of the great goddess herself blessed to walk the living realm. Unknown to him the child he wished for was not among them when her first year of life passed. The villagers had befriended the creatures of the darkness, the creatures that carved for light. The eternal glow of the child gave them purpose, something they lost living in the darkness. It seemed the only escape the child could have, so the villagers gave her to the creatures for protection. Strangely, the innocent child had bore a bond with one of the creatures quickly. Her soft angelic eyes seem to know him in another life, another time. He was the one that swore his life to her, to raise and protect her as a father does. He became the uncanny father of her, escaping into the dark of night to an outside world he never knew before. They escaped into a mysterious forest far from the dark castle, the Forbidden Forest. A forest where the restless spirits resigns, and the village of a mysterious race called the Lost Souls live in its very heart. Thou, though a rocky beginning the child and creature are safe within this very village deep within Forbidden Forest. Four years have passed since they were accepted into the village and the child is now five years old.

“Love is all you need,” whispers the gypsy as she fades into the mist of the darkness. The crashing of the ocean waves echoes as the face of a man clouded in darkness haunting her.
His voice so angelic, so serene as he spoke in a blinding pain, “Love, how could anyone love a monster! An accrued creature among the living world! Tell me gypsy woman, tell me who could ever love something so dark?” She felt his pain, his anger as the darkness slowly consumed him once more.
The distant mist stirred and echoed in her mind, “She will be a child unlike any other of this world. The blood of innocents and purity of the goddess will be within her. She will be the one, the chosen one, and the true princess of our world.” Then the darkness returns only the fading sound of the ocean waves hitting an unseen bank remained. The sound soon faded leaving only the darkness and silence as stood there alone. Then the screaming, she could hear the screaming as the pain slowly crept in. Everywhere, surrounding her was death, suffering, and innocent blood. Faces of people long forgotten, but somehow she knew them by heart. In a dismal cold sweat she awoke screaming as someone enters the room. Running to her side quickly, as he pulled her close to him.
“Are you okay? What is wrong little one,” the concerned creature asked her as he held her near to him.
“Dad--daddy it was the dream again, there was so much pain. So much blood and darkness, why does it haunt me so,” the little child screamed in terror as the creature she called father held her closer to him. His dark claws gently pulling back her silvering hair, revealing her angelic starry sky eyes.
“It is okay my dear, I am here and nothing will happen to you so long as I am here,” his crisp ancient voice broke as he spoke softly to the child, “That is a promise my little angel.” Memories filled his mind of when they first arrived to this forgotten village in the heart of a forest of spirits. How the creatures cursed him, but blessed her with true love and caring. They believed that he was there to harm the innocent infant child four years ago before they found out the true story. It took nearly a year for the villagers to understand the relationship of the two strangers, how he loved her as a father to his daughter. How he protected and cared for her unlike any of the known dark creatures would. He seemed more human then ever, holding the frighten child close to him, claming her down so she may fall asleep again. Hoping that the nightmares that haunted his little darling would not linger tonight. To her he was simply the only father that she had and ever known. She did not realize that he could never truly be her father for he was the accursed, of the darkness and she was merely something of light and human. Slowly she fell back into her restless sleep, clinging to him closely, afraid to let him go.
“That’s right little one, sleep again and tomorrow will be a better day. Tomorrow….”

Time passed quickly, as she grew older, stronger then any had truly realized. Entering her fifteenth year now she wondered from the safety of the village as she always had. She explored the forest with respect and curiosity as she traveled down the unseen paths of spirits. The great spirits that ruled the world surrounding her, teaching her wisdom beyond her years and the true meaning of every living thing among the world outside her village. Their wisdom becoming apart of her as they taught her over the years, the great hunters teaching her how to survive alone. The great warriors teaching her all they knew, as the wise elders taught her the healing powers of nature. Today however the spirits remained hidden in the forest growth as she walk down the path she usually walked. The wind stirred and whispered warning to her, “Don’t stray from the path! There are strangers in the forest!” The forest animals ran into hiding as she drew closer to them, which caused her fear for they were the first to welcome her any other time. Everything around her seemed to be in terror the farther is wondered from the safety of the village.
When the great spirit of Nara appeared before her in a sense of terror, warning her to return to the village, she asked what was happening.
In the whispering wind voice Nara spoke softly to her, “There are strangers in the forest. Hunting in our sacred forest, the humans are here. You must run to the safety of your village! Quickly!”
Turning, searching her surroundings she spoke softly. In the most purest and angelic voice, like the sweet melody of a distant dream she asked, “If someone is hunting in the forest that isn’t blessed to do so as a villager of the Lost Souls, then I must hunt them and chase them from our world. Nara please aid me and warn the village of the strangers in our homeland as I hunt them down.”
Nara look desperately at her for a moment before speaking, “No, no please my child you must return to the village. If anything happened to you Leon would never forgive himself. Return to the village quickly my dear child before it is to late.” Without farther arguing Silver quickly turn toward the direction of the village. Using Leon against her, she quickly ran down the path. Running faster then a wild cheetah she ran swiftly to the village. Brushes hitting against the bare flesh of her arms and legs. Her face hitting against the low limps of trees as the leaves torn into her face causing blood to run down her beautiful pale skin. She quickly jumped to avoid a fallen stump as she reached the small creek that ran near the village. In the distant she heard voices of men yelling to one another about some creature they saw. She quickly deicide to change her path following along side the creek she jumped occasionally to avoid spilling into the cool flowing water. Shortly after she reached the outside walls of the village.
In hopeful joy she ran towards the gates only to encounter a strange man. Just outside the close gates of the village stood a tall man. His back was turned to her as his black cloak blew softly in the wind. His raven black hair was pinned back as it blew around him, as if in an eternal dance. The man seemed to be about 7 feet as he held a blade in his left hand; his ears were long and pointy. They remained her of an elf half ling. She hid in a nearby tree as she watched him in the distant, a noise from the inside the walls quickly rattled her from hiding. It was Leon, her father yelling for her, searching for her. He seemed to be terrified as he searched for her in vain. One of the gates’ doors opened just enough as she made a run for it. Barely making it within the gate as the door closed behind her. The strange man however was right behind her as well, his eager eyes studying her closely. Leon quickly ran to her, grabbing her arm and dragging her to hiding. The stranger quickly followed behind them, reaching out for Silver. In fear of what was happening Silver stops in her tracks and turns to meet the gaze of the intruder. His eyes were like fire burning in the ashes of a forgotten world, his pale sunless skin seemed to be as fine porcelain. She stood her ground fast and hard, unafraid of this new treat as forbidden words spilled from her rosy lips. Leon tired to pull her away in fear, but she was prepared to fight to the very end as the villagers surrounded them.
“Leave this place and never return, you shall not be harmed if you leave now stranger. This is a scared place not for outsiders like you,” Silver’s voice was strong and brave, “Or you will never see your world again.”
The man laughter was as cold as the long winter nights of the icy realm. It was dark and sinister as words formed in the air around him. Unnatural, this man was unnatural and strange. The villagers feared him but Silver stood her ground protectively as he looked deeper into her eyes. Burning into her very soul, his voice was terrifying. Like death knocking at your door, “Why should I child for the others fear me. You however,” he circled her like an eager hawk ready to attack its prey, “you do not fear me like the others. What makes you a mere child so unafraid?”
Her eyes flashed as he circled her closely, “Fear is the mind killer, that is why I am unafraid. You have entered a sacred place without permission. I will not allow you to continue in my home. I am a protector of this world I live in. Leave now or fight me stranger.”
Again his evil laughter filled the air, “You think I would simply leave this magical place like that. Or even I the great king Rygar would fight a mere child. Ha, that must be a joke little one. I do like your spirit; it is brave however I will not fight you. How about that creature of darkness behind you? He seems worthy of a good fight or two.”
In slight confusion Silver looks around, “Creature of darkness?” Leon grabs her hand softly as she realized the person he was talking about, “You mean father? My father? He isn’t a creature of darkness. He is a born creature of this village.”
The king laughter startled her for a moment, “That, a creature of this village. Never, he is a creature of darkness, found only in the Decaying Forest serving the Dark Lord. He must have kidnapped you from a village and fled here.”
In a sharp ancient tone, “I never kidnapped her, she was giving to me for protection. I may be a creature of darkness, but I do not serve that evil man. Who are you and why have you come?”
Silver quickly moved between the two protectively, “My father may be of…of darkness, but I still love him. You King Rygar of the Dark Elf half ling. This land is tainted by your very presence and I will not stand for it. I warn you again, leave this place and never return!” Her eyes seemed on fire as she spoke, her voice echoing through the village. The man seemed startled for a moment before his cool laughter filled the air.
His voice was calm as he spoke, “And how dear, did you know all of that? I merely told you my name and nothing more.” He studied her more closely; his eyes seemed more alive then ever. A smile creeping on his cold face as he slowly reached out towards her. Something in her snapped as his hand reached out towards her. Like a blinding light, a wave shaking the very earth beneath them, she didn’t move as a strange force pushed him away. Flying into the far side of the gate he stared in amazement towards her.
Her voice was filled with such strength it shocked everyone around her, “I said leave and never return. If you refuse then you will never see your kingdom again. Take your men and leave my forest.” King Rygar slowly stood to his feet, rubbing his shoulders as his cold laughter filled the air around him. Voices of men outside the gate wall, a loud blast quickly followed after. The gate threw open as an explosion of fire forcing it open. The men quickly ran in, carrying strange weapons she has never before seen. King Rygar looked at his men before laughing again.
“No child I think I might stay after all. You are more then you first appear,” King Rygar voice was cool as he walked back towards her, “So child what is your name? I think you will be a perfect addition to my treasures.” He reaches out for her again. Quickly Silver backs away from him and watches the men crowding around them. King Rygar laughs again as he steps closer to her, grabbing her chin.
“Sorry my dear it won’t be that easy to escape me. I have you and that monster you call father surrounded. There is nowhere to run and you have no choice but to surrender yourself to me.”
Silver growled under her breath as she jerks away from him, “I am not yours. Don’t touch me monster,” Her thoughts raced as she summoned the incantation forth, “This man of dark in my world of light. Cast him out into the night. Forces of the great spirits hear my plead and come forth to aid and rescue me,” As she spoke the incantation the earth beneath them began to shake. The great spirits of the forest slowly crept into the small village, their great force pulling at the men. King Rygar laughs softly and grabs Silver’s chin again. His eyes echoing his hunger for her as he pulled her closer.
His voice was calm; to calm as he spoke, “So you do know magic as well. I fear that this little forest of spirits will not aid you against me. Now tell me your name little treasure.” His voice filled with anger as she bit into his forearm, “That my pet is uncalled for.” He raises his hand to her only to fill the tight grip of Leon’s clawed hand holding him back.
His ancient voice filled with hatred, “Don’t even think about harming my daughter you fowl creature!” Without breaking a sweat Leon throws King Rygar across the small village. Falling hard against the protective wall King Rygar merely raises and laughs. Leon eyes flash with anger as he steps towards King Rygar.
King Rygar laughs again as he rose to his feet, “So this monster of the darkness does know how to fight after all. That is good I thought he had grown weak for a child was defending him.” His men laugh as they stood to their feet. “Well now creature you wish to fight me for a mere child. That is surely something your kind refuse to do for anyone.” He looks at Silver and grins as he pulled out some sort of object. His eyes flashed cold red as she moved in front of Leon. “Move child I wish to tame your beast for my pleasure of amusement. Little treasure your time will come after I deal with that monster behind you”
Silver let out a low hateful growl as she slowly took a step towards King Rygar, the anger plainly showing in her eyes as she spoke, “You will not touch my father you monster. Go back to your kingdom or I will kill you myself.” Slowly she brought forth the full of her energies to prepare to fight this monstrous man before her. Her eyes flash crimson red as she made her way to him, King Rygar just laughed at her not knowing her true strength. Leon moved back slowly feeling the change in her, knowing what was about to happen. His heart racing as he motioned for the villagers to do the same, to back as far away as they could for she was angry. Moving swiftly the village became a bit baron, only King Rygar, his men and her. Slowly, awkwardly King Rygar looks around the village and thinks to himself.
“So are you going to teach me a lesson little treasure? I am waiting, “ He said in spite of his growing fear. She looks at him coldly and slowly raises her hand, causing him to rise from the ground. A wicked smile on his face King Rygar shouted at his men to capture her now, while she was busy dealing with him. Her ears twitched a bit before she slowly looked at the men and growled. Taking very slow steps towards her the men prepared a net. She laughed softly, angelically at this and that is when King Rygar saw it, the mark on her lower hip, the mark of the crown wolf and the great moon. His wicked smile returning he reencountered her magic quickly and swiftly charged towards her. She dodged him easily however, moving swiftly to the side, King Rygar ran passed her and hit a tree instead. Recovering slowly he turned to charge her again as his men closed in with the net. She delicately looks around and smiles softly. It was easy for her to keep this up, her energy boundless compared to King Rygar’s own. She throws the men aside let rag dolls before facing King Rygar again.
“Will you leave, or die here,” She asks as she slowly stepped towards him. King Rygar growled slightly under his breath knowing that she was capable of killing him. He smiles to himself for a moment before replying.

“I will leave Silver Night of the Village of the Lost Souls or should I say, Silver Night of the Moon,” King Rygar laughed his cold bitter laugh and slowly walked passed her. Placing a collar about her neck swiftly before she could react. Silver growled and charged for his throat but was stopped by Leon. Her eyes flash with anger as she snaps at King Rygar, the collar burning her neck.
Leon spoke softly to his daughter, “Young one settle that thing will be removed. Your not Silver Night of the Moon either so all is well,” Slowly he turned to face King Rygar with the same anger in his eyes as his daughter’s, “As for you sir, that was uncalled for. My daughter may be named Silver but she isn’t Silver Night nor will she ever be. As for your blasted attempt to claim her with a rather weak collar,” Leon laughs softly to himself, “Well that I can easily remove for there is no magic binding it nor did anyone give ownership of her to you. Therefore even if you attempt to place magic upon the collar nothing will happen.” King Rygar stared at Leon for a moment before laughing his cold laugh yet again, knowing very well that the child that he wanted was indeed the child that the dark lord has been seeking for so long in the night. That this one they called Silver was the daughter of the great Moon.
