Long Live Xomba Olympics | Let the Fever Stay

Long Live Xomba Olympics | Let the Fever Stay

It has been a cracking fortnight on Xomba. Now that the Olympics is over and the fever seems to have subsided i am simply dazed at the trail this mega event has blazed. There has been a flurry of great articles on Xomba during this fortnight both in terms of numbers and quality of articles about Olympics.

Things heated up especially after Xomba Admin's article encouraged and goaded others to use this wonderful opportunuty to post about Olympics and even making money in the bargain. Read the comments in the article above and you will know what i am talking about.

The sun has set on the Olympics. Records have not been broken at Olympics alone. They (must have) tumbled here on Xomba too for sure. I am sure xombies must have beaten their past best and posted new highs in their earning revenues to beat their previous personal days/weeks/months records to cap an end to this glorious fortnight.

We have our own share of Micheal Phelps and Usain Bolt here on Xomba. If we had Micheal Phelps at the Olympics sweeping golds whenever he touched water, we have rawnak here who turned almost every topic she touched into gold.

If Usain has Bolt(ed) 100m in the finals to take away our breaths with just one event, here we have our version of Bolt in Nick, whose single article titled Have You Caught Olympic Fever has such amazing pictures and "story takes" that one drooled for more.

Though i have not been so fortunate on the money earning part, i was happy to join the party late and have some fun too. My article about Latest Medal Standing cranked decent hits too.

I sign off wondering if Olympics has to return after a long gap of four year?

In the mean while....Long Live Xomba Olympics. Let the Fever Stay

(Disclaimer: i named rawnak and nick based on the articles i could manage to read in the very limited time i could spend on xomba. I am sure there are other Bolts and Phelps. And of course... Bindras! Does any one want to stand up?)

Vancouver 2010

Kukku, it'll be here before you know it. It's only a year and a half away, starting Feb. 12th 2010.

Addicted to Olympics

I've always loved the Olympics, so I was following it a lot any way I could--different TV channels, Web sites from different countries, etc. During the Sydney Games there was such a time lag between Australia and the U.S. I was online constantly, reading updates from Australian news sites and commenting on their live blogs of the Games. It was addicting...

All Things Considered

Appreciate the comment Kukku. You know, honestly I only watched maybe 4 hours of the Olympics. I kept up with the highlights on Xomba and other sites. Xomba became a great place for Olympic news especially with our diverse national community. It is now up to us to provide a better site design to organize such news. Which we are working on. Congrats to all of you who enjoyed success with writing on the Olympics. By the way, we filed this under the Xomba category.

Thanks mamamia

Actually, I really didn't get to see the main exciting events of the Beijing Olympics (which I would have loved to watch live), specially Micheal Phelps records and Usain Bolt. Also I missed the women's gymnastics and also Rythmic gymnastics which is my favorite, as the timings for all these sports was very odd and so I got to watch only those events in which the Indians were taking part, mostly. I am now watching the reruns, hoping to catch what I missed live earlier. Although I did stay glued to the television for both the opening and closing ceremony, as I did not want to miss any part of that. It was absolutely awesome.

You Deserved it, Rawnak....

Yes, you deserved the compliment, rawnak. I hope the next games (WInter Olympics Games) your enthusiasm rubs off on others too! DO the Write Thing & Get Paid Here

Thanks for the Compliment Kukku. (to be compared to Micheal Phelps)Wow!

Only two years to wait

It'll be a relatively short wait till the next Olympics: Vancouver hosts the Winter Games in 2010.
