Old Daley vs. New Daley

I don't think the current Daley is. The old Daley was legendary for his corruption. Is there still corruption in Chicago? Yes, that it's been entrenched in that town since long before even the elder Daley was in office. Back to Al Capone's day and way before. I lived in Chicago during some of the elder Daley years and the corruption was pretty appalling.

Daley is an insult to Chicago

Daley may be a public figure, but he is an insult to Chicago not unlike Boss Tweed was to New York City during the 19th Century. If some Chicagoans want to be associated with a corrupt political machine, so be it, but they don't speak for everybody. ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING

by calling Obama a “hack, Chicago-style, Daley politician." (referring to the former Mayor Daley, back in the 1970s).
