Spring cleaning is a big winner for Portland man

In my story "Good Karma Comes Back In Odd Ways -- the Lottery Ticket Hanging On A Bush...,"
http://xomba.com/good_karma_comes_back_in_odd_ways_a_true_story_from_oregon
one of the points I really tried to push was we never know where we might find one of these things. My friend Thomas would see them out in the middle of the street, and, knowing that these things are out there just laying on the ground, or stuck on a bush, crammed in a glove box, or, where-ever, Thomas always insisted taking the time and check them out.
I found mine hanging on a bush, Thomas always would always find them, and Mr. Gordon Carnese, of Portland, Oregon, found his forgotten ticket crammed in his glove box, where it had been since December 2008.
He was doing some spring cleaning and decided he'd better check it, and several others he had forgot were in the box.
He took his to a local deli and the clerk checked each one for him, and, then, with a gasp, she announced one of those forgotten tickets was worth $2.6 million dollars!! He had all the winning numbers.
In, Oregon you only have one year to collect. Mr. Carnese has decided to take the money in $70,000 annual payments for 25 years.
I'll always remember what Thomas always said, "Karma comes back to those, who have done good, in odd ways. If, we are able to remain humble, the karma excels itself towards us. But, if, we become less humble, the return good-karma may, possibly, be missed..."
A friend of mine in Illinois, Kent, told me after he read the story about Thomas he started checking, when he did see one, blowing, like an orphan in the street, he does check them.
And, if Thomas could speak, he would want everyone to know, it never hurts to look.
And, I'm sure Mr. Gordon Carnese, of Portland, Oregon, will agree with that.
You never know if the one you pickup has all the winning numbers, unless you check it.
