Love after divorce.

Love after divorce.

How do you love again after a divorce? Whether the divorce was your idea or your partners, there will more than likely come a time when your heart is ready to move on. People have a way of letting us know how they feel about us moving on. It seems like every time someone sees me they are telling me that I haven't given myself or my ex husband enough time to really make sure it is over.

Well is it over? Yes. Before you start thinking this is just another person who had a problem with her marriage and got out of it, I'm not. I tried everything under the sun to make my marriage work. All the while I knew in my heart that he was never the man I was in love with. So why did I marry him? I have asked myself that so many times in fifteen years. If I am to be honest with myself on that question. Then I have to admit I only married him so I wouldn't be alone. I was young too young to get married really. I was twenty. I didn't like being alone. I, like a lot of people wanted to feel loved. So when he asked me to marry him I said yes.

Do I regret that decision? Yes and no. Yes because it feels like I wasted so many years not being with someone that I loved. No because we have three great children together. So where am I now in my quest to find the new divorce? We have now agreed to move this divorce along. We don't want to continue to put it off. Soon our divorce will be filed.

My heart has moved on.

Do I believe that it is too soon? No. Everyone moves on at their own pace. I will not say that I am always right even for myself. But I will say that as long as I am making the decision that I feel is best for me and my children, the speed at which I make the decision is after all my decision.

Do you feel that YOU can love again after a divorce? I would love to hear your opinions on love after divorce. Is there love after divorce? Or should marriage be for life, even if you got it wrong the first time around? If your marriage has fallen apart, don't you deserve to find happiness again?
