MacBook Review
posted January 10, 2008 - 2:36pmAs I was also skeptical before purchasing an apple laptop, I want to share my experiences with a MacBook in this review with you. I think there is no doubt that from a design point of view there is no other notebook to compete with apple at the moment. That's why mainly students and young businessmen decide to switch sides. There are definitely many advantages of working with macintosh. I purchased a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo notebook with 1 GB memory about half a year ago and I do not regret my decision. I also upgraded my software from Tiger to Leopard which emerged as very helpful. Working with Apple's latest operating system is made really pleasant due to features such as Spaces, Activity Monitor, Time Machine and the good old Dashboard. Besides, there aren't any viruses that affect a MacBook at the moment as hackers still concentrate on the majority, using Windows.
Nevertheless, there are also some negative aspects as the system is not yet compatible with a lot of programs. I couldn't for example install the software fore my new Samsung mobile phone on the PC. Furthermore, programs like Napster or some online video streaming do not work. On the other hand, Leopard has already a built in program, called Boot Camp, to solve those problems. This device allows you to run Windows on your Mac. You simply decide which system to go with when booting your computer so that you are free to use the advantages of both softwares.
