Major Announcement! Publius is Branching Out!

For all of my loyal readers – both of them (hi, mom and dad) – I would like to make a formal announcement of my new website. Part of the reason for my absence last month was trying to get this site up and running. It is an expansion of my writing here on Xomba, which I have thoroughly enjoyed and will continue to do. Everyone is welcome to visit and eventually you may have your own profile for comments. (For now, you only need a name and e-mail address.)

The website will mainly focus on history, current events, and what I will call “applied philosophy” – my philosophies applied to how we live with respect to government and society. But it will not only be for those interested in government, politics, history, or philosophy. I will write other articles on topics such as sports, entertainment, or pottery when they are relevant to my agendas. My object is to inform and to encourage a healthy discourse and debate on a wide variety of topics. Hopefully, all of you will join me and anyone else who decides to partake in the debating festivities.

So, without further delay…

Visit RationalLiberty.com!

I have just posted an article explaining how we can get out of our financial mess and retake the power from our disastrous federal government in one simple piece of legislation. If you like what you see and want to spread the word, be sure to tell your friends and family about Rational Liberty. I will be posting some very well-researched articles in the coming weeks and months that you won’t want to miss. But don’t worry…I’ll be sure to inform everyone when they’re posted.

So, come by RationalLiberty.com and let me know what you think. Any and all suggestions or criticisms are welcome and will be considered, so don’t hesitate to speak (or write) your mind.

I haven't heard of people

I haven't heard of people leaving Florida. We've been growing like crazy over the last several years...something like 800 people moving here per day. The property taxes in Florida may be high - because it's Florida. But I'm sure they're not that much lower in California. The sales tax is only about 7% and we have no state income tax, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe the people you've talked to were living on the beach. Or maybe they just wanted to justify why they moved to the left coast. Oh...clay pot. What was I thinking? Who is Publius? Join Xomba and get PAID to write - CLICK HERE!

See, I'm still learning

The wonder of reading! ;) I did not realize that the flat and the fair tax were two different things. Thanks for straightening that out for me. I have run across a few people who have moved from Florida to California stating that the taxes in Florida were just too high. They referenced property taxes and sales tax. I'm just curious if they have one of the best economies, why are Floridians moving to California? No violations if your homemade pot is out of clay! MJ - Sending happy thoughts!

Thanks. Make sure you add it

Thanks. Make sure you add it to your favorites and tell all of your friends and family about it. I plan on writing at least a few articles per week, so you'll have something new to read, think about, and discuss. There will be some very interesting topics you won't want to miss. Who is Publius? branching out

I like the new web site, I'm sure that I'll be checking that one on a regular schedule.

MJ Dakota... Let's not

MJ Dakota... Let's not confuse the two. The flat tax is not the FairTax. The flat tax is basically what we have now, except today we have more than one or two tax brackets. The flat tax is not a fix...it is the same old thing we've had for a century. The FairTax, on the other hand, is entirely new and it is tested and proven in government. Just look to the states with a sales tax as their revenue as opposed to income taxes. Florida and Texas are two great examples. They have two of the best economies in the world. The best methods for baking your homemade pot? I didn't think we were allowed to discuss those subjects on Xomba. Doesn't it violate Google Adsense policy? Who is Publius? Nice work Publius

I must admit, that is the most I have ever read about the FairTax! I have thought the flat tax is a step in the right direction, but never looked into how it would work. Very nice article of explaination. I apologize for not debating the issue, but maybe when you post "The best methods for baking your homemade pot" I'll have a difference of opinion! Nice Job! MJ - Sending happy thoughts!

Excellent

I believe it would be hard to enforce anyway. Also I noticed the Heritage Foundation at the right of your page. I often read their articles in our local newspapers editorial page. Hope you do well and thanks for the response.

The tax is only a one-time

The tax is only a one-time tax at the point of retail - only on new items. You wouldn't have to worry about collecting a sales tax a your yard sale. And you know what that means? When you buy a home or car, the same rule applies. If it's used, it's not taxed again...and it shouldn't be. Who is Publius? Join Xomba and get PAID to write - CLICK HERE!

@Publius

I just took a visit to your website. It was a good read and it makes sense to me. About 20 years ago one of my customers eluded to the fact that a loaf of bread is taxed around 200 times from the seed to the table. I think you would also see less refuse hauled to the landfills. Curious to know how it would work for used items sold at yard sales and alike. Please respond. +1

My parents really don't

My parents really don't care...I made that up. They are not my loyal followers. The bunny? Well...who can get angry at a bunny? I can pretty much say whatever I want now. (P.S. - the bunny is mine) Who is Publius? Join Xomba and get PAID to write - CLICK HERE!
