The Windy City is currently hosting the worlds largest conference on the use of Wind Power. The latest stimulus bill included a provision to help fund the increased use of renewable energy. 20,000 people are expected to attend the conference with more than 1,200 exhibitors showing off their wares at the event. According to WLS, the Energy department is hoping to increase energy produced by wind power to 20% of production from a current 3% by 2030. This could mean a big boon for windy states like Illinois, and could be a real creator of good paying jobs in the coming years.
