If you're looking to make a little money on eHow, there are a few simple things you can do. While you should never write on eHow just for the money, there are things you can do to increase your earnings in the long run.

Wordtracker (link on Continue Reading page)

Pick a topic you want to write about and enter it into the search box on Wordtracker.

Wordtracker will show you search volumes for a given keyword or topic. You want to use a subject that is searched for often. A popular topic will get more traffic because - well - more people are looking for it.

More views will translate into more ad clicks - and more ad clicks means more money for eHow (which means you get paid more). Any topic over a ranking of 30 should do pretty well.

The great thing about eHow ranking so well with Google is any articles you write will do well in search results. So that helps a bit. Note: Wordtracker does have a paid membership available, but in my experience, I have never needed it. There are other free resources available on the web that replace the other features of Wordtracker.

Google Keywords Tool (link on Continue Reading page)

Google has a great tool for webmasters to help in choosing keywords.

It will show you the estimated value of a click on an ad that uses a specific keyword. Also shown are the keywords' approximate search volume (how many searches were done with that keyword/phrase) and advertiser competition (how many other people are using that keyword/phrase).
