Generating traffic is not rocket science, even though it is the key to success. Your blog needs good content(obviously), and once you have good content all you should have to do is promote it here and there. If your blog is very promising then it might be wise to use google adwords to drive traffic to it. If your blog has good content, given enough time it will get traffic, especially if it's viral.

If your blog is interesting and you regularly update it, telling a single person about it could theoretically bring you hundreds of visits a day.

Affiliate programs are great, and a fine one is clickbank.com . If you have a website you can promote products from clickbank and get paid a commission. You can put this on your blog too, but it is best not to have both product prkmotions and google adsense on the same blog, a big nono.

There are thousands of affiliate programs and this is a nice way to make money while sitting in your pajamas.

Websites can generate thousands of dollars. Find a passion, and make a website. Put fine quality content on your website or provide a great service, and throw some google adsense ads onto it.

Websites like youtube and yahoo are very successful because they benefit from communities. A community can keep your website alive and the users can act as natural advertisers. If your website is going well try uploading a forum to go along with it. There are many websites I visit daily which have a forum embedded into it. These are the types of websites I come back to visit all the time, and tell other people about it.
