Man Pictures His Childhood Fantasy as Lawn Chair Takes Wings

It is a scene straight out of childhood fantasies. Flying while seated in your chair. Kent Couch a 48-year-old gas station owner completed his childhood fantasy of being able to fly by grabbing clusters of helium balloons. Just 150 balloons were used for this flight of more than 200 miles.

Check out the video and pictures of the man flying in the lawn chair.

Love this story - anything to defy gravity.....

I think is really cool ..... I listened to this fellow on the radio, oh gosh, around April 2002 (coasttocoastam.com)

http://www.markbarry.com/lawnchairman.html

He had his girlfriend down on the ground with a walkie-talkie ok now that i read it more it was a CB radio of some kind,
and once he got up in the air he didn't want to come back down, cuz it was soo much fun *lol* on the radio show you could hear her telling him to come down. anyway the link above has more info about it than i ever knew and at the bottom of that page is audio of that day. So thanks for the post kukku :)))

Larry Walters Balloon ride

Another hilariously funny but also rather tragic story is the story of Larry Walters. he did something similar but unintended back in 1982. Read his story here http://www.snopes.com/travel/airline/walters.asp
