Mandela hosts 90th birthday bash in farewell to public life

Nelson Mandela celebrated his 90th birthday with a lavish dinner. This birthday marks his retirement from public life. His doctor said he is in remarkable health for a man of his age.

As, Jacob Zuma, head of the ruling ANC party and tipped to become president next year, said, "You are the glue that holds us together as a nation. You provide eternal hope in our people and the world, that South Africa can only be a better place each day,"

And, I believe, Nelson Mandela, is the glue, which holds the ideology together of changing the world to be a place where only better things are, yet, to come.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Mandela!

What's even more amazing is that he spent about a third of his life living in harsh prison conditions, and still has managed to live to 90 in good health. We should all be so lucky! (except for the prison part, that is).

Hope he has many more healthy years. He deserves them. I saw Oprah on TV commenting that he is "still very active and healthy, telling jokes..they're not funny..." (something along those lines)
