Maria Sharapova has triumphed over Justine Henin at the Australian Open quarter-finals.
She put an end to Henin's winning streak in her last 30 odd matches.

She produced a brilliant match. After winning 6-4 in the first set, she crushed Henin in the second set by 6-0.

Sharapova has sometimes been a little erratic. But her recent win against Lindsay Davenport seems to have proved to be the turning point. She next faces Jelena Jankovic, who had a surprise win over Serena Williams in her last match.

Her fans are overjoyed, and it looks as though her recent ambassadorship with Sony Ericsson has not distracted her from her on-court performance. Maybe it even helped.
